Stan and John show you the right (and wrong) ways to create professional
characters and situations using examples from Spider-Man, The Fantastic
Four, The Avengers and many others. This is more than just an in-depth
how-to in drawing comics. Welcome to how to Draw Comics the Marvel Way!
A Must For
Stooges Fans! This DVD is really good! I was very glad that the
lost gem "Kook's Tour" was included here; it was the only Stooges film I
hadn't seen, and it was well worth the wait! Anchor Bay did a great job
restoring it!
The "Family Album" video gives a more intimate glimpse into the lives
of the Stooges, with rare home movies, photos and personal memories; the
movie breezes along at a rapid pace (I guess they had to move it along
when chronicling a nearly 70-year career!)
This is a definite must for Stooges fans; you'll enjoy it immensely as
I did!
Maybe
interesting, but not funny at all I regreat I bought this DVD.
History stuff and trivia. It is not worth the money if you want to laugh
as you can do with the others Three Stooges DVDs. Why in the world I
didn't read more carefully when someone else said that this was just a
documentary.
this is a
documentary - not the shorts I expected I wanted to introduce my
three young boys to the Three Stooges. I thought a title like "All Time
Favorites" would include the shows that I watched and laughed at as a kid.
But this DVD is pure documentary! I might recommend it to die hard fans of
the Stooges, but it sure wasn't what I was looking for. ... Read more
Don't throw
your money away!!!!!!!! This is one of the worst rip-offs I have
ever seen!! It's an insult to all Stooges fans. Bad clips, a flakey voice
over history and one movie. Two DVD's are the 3 Stooges cartoons!! I have
literally trashed my set and am now looking at other alternatives. I would
not try to sell mine second hand as I would be ashamed of myself.
Trust me, there is nothing here worth buying.
Real Bogus
Set... Don't bother with this one. You only get one DVD with any
episodes on it (three Shemps and one Curly), and the rest of the DVDs are
nothing more than interviews, clips, and just plain filler material. These
are a total waste of time and money.
Where is a
real DVD set of the Three Stooges? Again the people in charge rip
us off with DVD collections. This is horrible as already posted. But
where are real DVD sets of the Three Stooges? We should get about 35-40
shorts per set according to era for $40 list- $30 or so on Amazon. With
about 300 hours of material in the vaults that is still a lot of
collections for me to pick and choose. With the right promotion and this
price they should make a fortune. A video store in my area constantly ran
a promo for Charlie Chan and with 70,000+ videos in store they rented more
Charlie Chans than anything else. Usually one time only per customer but 6
Chans at a time at 3.47 a night. It shows how as long as it's not Bad Boys
10 Of the Vanities people will buy based on the ad. Sure hate to say it
though. Clean up the 3 Stooges prints well- I notice. Then all you need is
a disc of a few rarities in each set with a 10 minute or so documentary
for each era with no talking heads and only entertaining footage to a
classic narrator giving entertaining and fascinating tidbits about this
highly underated in contention for the best ever comedy team. Just imagine
how much money the heads at Columbia or whatever company who owns the
library could make. Just promote it well. And the Stooges only got 5
thousand a short each. That's about $150,000 for their career. The cast
members of friends make several times 150,000 per episode. What a joke.
Can you honestly even dare to compare the cast of Friends to the
incredible Three Stooges? Not if you have one ounce of good taste. I think
the chicks in the Stooges flicks are cooler too. Can't wait for the 3
volumes of 24 Abbot & Costello films. Hope I finally get to see
A&C in Mars, Frankenstein and others for the first time without pot
marks and specks. Don't they have computers that stop the print at the
flaw so they can get the machine to correct it? How hard is that? Bottom
line- companies if you want me to buy you've got to give me a fair deal
and good quality. I'm a sucker but not if you rip me off with sloppy work
and watered down quantity. I notice when you put the Twilight Zones out of
order, slip in hour episodess, use a sloppily made menu and charge almost
3 times too much. People please don't buy from the companies that do this.
If you want The Twilight Zone Collection pass on it until they get it
right with a different version. Get the first season of Outer Limits
instead. ... Read more

Much of this
material has been out there before There are about 5 Three Stooges
shorts from Columbia that are in the public domain that have been released
on DVD and VHS in different formats with different titles, but it is
mostly the same old stuff. The same holds true with a number of rare
items, such as the 1949 TV pilot, some solo Shemp shorts, and other TV
guest appearances. Most of these compilations are from Good Times Home
Video, as is the Festival title.
Three Stooges Festival is more of the same, but the good news here is
that there is also a 4 DVD version under this same title. One of the DVDs
is this one. There are two DVDs called Funniest Moments and Funniest
Moments II. And one is called The Three Stooges Story.
Funniest Moments are taken from the live action intros the team did for
the 1965 series of cartoons called The New 3 Stooges. The box proclaims
that this shows the Stooges at the height of their popularity and are a
rare glimpse of the team in color. All of that is true, but their peak
actually came about 5 or 6 years earlier. The segments aren't very good,
the accompanying music is tough to sit through, but the cartoons, which
were of varied quality, have been edited out. The best thing is that on
volume II, the very last segment is an 8 minute, black and white
appearance of a rather amusing routine taken from the Ed Sullivan show. I
can't remember if I saw this when it originally aired, but I know there
were several appearances on Ed Sullivan, as well as Joey Bishop's late
night show and others. If these could be found and released it would
certainly be worth it to serious collectors.
The real find of this four pak is the documentary called The Three
Stooges Story. It is more than twice as long as the other DVDs in the pak
and is chock full of stuff I have never seen before. And it makes good use
of snippets from stuff that has been out before.
If you can find this four pak, it is at a good price, only about what
one would pay for a regular movie DVD for all four here, and well worth it
for the documentary and that Sullivan clip.
Three
Stooges The Three Stooges look great on DVD! The new "technicolor"
imagery provides greater depth and a better viewing experience. Although,
this DVD didn't have my favorite 3 Stooges clips, it was packed full of
other hair-raising and ridiculously funny comedy the Stooges were famous
for. ... Read more

Three
Stooges Out Takes and shorts I wouldn't have known what this DVD
selection was just from reading the description available at Amazon, but
being exceptionally curious, and being furthermore motivated by the
inexpensive price, I went ahead and bought it to find out just what these
"Lost Treasures" were. -They are an assortment of rare Three Stooges
clips, shorts, and outtakes from The Three Stooges over the years,
including some rare television appearances, the TV pilot that they were in
("Jerks of All Trades"), and a few skits when they appeared as guests in
some variety television shows. Not a bad concept, compiling a handful of
treasures directly from the vaults, with the result that the public
manages to get a sample of certain shorts that hadn't seen the light of
day for decades. Anyway, some of these selections were fairly entertaining
in your typical Three Stooges sort of way. When the Three Stooges are
shown on television, they interact with other guests that happened to be
there with them. Some of the clips are unfortunately grainy, and grey or
dark, but others are very sharp indeed. I guess you have to be a Three
Stooges fan to really get into this DVD, but I still found it enjoyable
anyway. I suppose I would have given it a higher mark if I were as
obsessed with the Three Stooges as some fans are. ... Read more

Disc one is
more of a stooge than the 3 Stooges my disk one is defective,
unfortunately I cant get past the main menu screen and episodes do not
play on any dvd player. sometimes I can get the clips to play on my
computer by opening the specific file but it still ends up freezing. Seems
i'm not the only one this has happened to. unfortunately i didnt buy this
through amazon so i cant get a free replacment so i'm stuck with sending
the defective disc to the manufacturer. not only will it take 6-8 weeks to
mail me a new disc, but i have to pay for the shipping. Dont bother with
this title, not only will it take 2-3 days to ship but if you also get a
defective disc, it's going to be more trouble than it's worth. I suggest
looking at another stooges collection to purchase.
Somebody
deserves a good eye-poke for this one. Not only are the bonus
materials poorly produced, the disk containing the Stooges' shorts are
defective. Twice I had to return the set because the first disk would not
play two of the shorts, and another short had defects that made it
unwatchable.
Look for other sources of Stooges material.
I wish Moe were still around to give the guys who put this out a real
working-over.
Disappointing Anniversary collection With the title "Three
Stooges 75th Anniversary Collectors Edition," and a very nice packaging
presentation, you may have expectations of a wide selection of the comedy
team's best work, or even some rarities. But...
It's another collection of public domain material (this is a Madacy
product), much of which has been available since the dawn of home video on
many tape and disc offerings from numerous distributors. You'll find the
four pd Columbia shorts, DISORDER IN THE COURT (1936), SING A SONG OF SIX
PANTS (1947), BRIDELESS GROOM (1947) and MALICE IN THE PALACE (1949), plus
a handful of NEW 3 STOOGES (1965) cartoons. Original material is limited
to a 10 minute video of hellos & introductions from Stooge family
members, taped at a 1998 convention in CA, plus some brief hosting
segments by Curly-impersonator Dave Knight.
Visual quality of the shorts and cartoons is lacking, dark and
non-contrasty. The cartoons have been "split up," i.e., the live-action
segments are under one menu, & the animated segments under a separate
menu; the return to each menu contains annoying freeze frames that cut off
approx. the last second of film, rather than seamless segues. (Note: with
the exception of two add'l cartoons, this DVD's content was released in
2000 as a VHS "75th Anniversary" collection, available only from Comedy
3's catalog and online store.)
From the perspective of cost, maybe you'll feel you got what you paid
for. But if you're looking for a collection worthy of the label '75th
Anniversary,' you will be very disappointed. ... Read more
